Welcome Coaches!

Dear Coach,

Welcome to Dierker’s Champs. We are proud to have you in our family of baseball and life. Our aim is to have the best coaching possible. Period.

We want all of our kids to fondly remember their years with us for the rest of their lives. You have no idea how important you are to every young player you coach. Just being part of a team is thrilling to kids in Tee Ball, and learning what it takes to be a dependable teammate will serve even the least talented of our older players for the rest of their lives. You are the key!

We will play every game to win, but we don’t always define winning by the final score. After all, we will play each other a lot, and only one team can win the game. But both teams should enjoy the competition. It is important to teach them to be respectful of their opponent after a win. And it is even more important to stress their good effort after a loss and pump them up to win the next game by practicing at home.

By now, you should be getting the drift that we expect you to do your best. Just showing up is not an option. Be prepared for practices and games.  Use the tools we provide to help your kids. For now, that means to use the printed material we provide. Later, we will make a video or videos to facilitate your coaching.

Don’t be afraid to ask some of our veteran youth coaches for help with anything from practice drills to parent relations. If you are an experienced coach, take the time to help a coach who is just getting started.

Please review the contents of the enclosed package and concentrate on the areas that apply to your team. We will stay in email contact throughout the season with information, and suggestions. Remember that this is a two way street. You can return the emails with questions or suggestions of your own.

We’re all in this together.

- Larry Dierker
